About

Welcome!

Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Fort Worth, established in January 1929 by Father Narcissus Denis of the Josephite Fathers, began with Masses held in a house-turned-rectory and soon expanded to a chapel converted from an old drug store. By the end of its first year, the parish grew to about 70 members, reaching 150 by 1935. In 1941, it opened St. Veronica's mission in the Lake Como area, serving the community for over 25 years. The parish moved to 1001 East Terrell Avenue in 1952, fostering continued growth. Designated as the principal church for the 2015-2016 Jubilee Year of Mercy by Bishop Olsen, Our Mother of Mercy has been influential in Fort Worth, producing leaders in various sectors. The Josephite Fathers, serving for 78 years, were succeeded by the Society of Divine Word (S.V.D.) in 2006 until 2022. Throughout its history, the parish has seen enhancements to its grounds and buildings while maintaining a commitment to faith and community evangelization.
